Yesterday was one of those days that felt almost unreal in its beauty and warmth. We began our day at HerKitchen in Hoi An, where I work alongside the organization C4C. This HerKitchen location is designed for cooking classes and features a pool, with plans to possibly offer massages in the future. From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a small paradise: peaceful, lush, and full of positive energy.

This is the location from HerKitchen in Hoi An.

The garden of HerKitchen in Hoi An is full of beautiful details like this statue.

We started by preparing our meal together. A Vietnamese woman guided us through the process with patience and skill. She showed us, among other things, how to properly make fresh spring rolls. The filling had already been prepared, allowing us to focus on the technique and the happening. After assembling them, we grilled the rolls ourselves and later enjoyed them together. The food was absolutely delicious!

After the meal, we had some time to relax and enjoy the pool. It was the perfect way to unwind, surrounded by such a beautiful setting. Feeling refreshed, we continued on to another location in Hoi An run by Her Kitchen. There, we were introduced to the traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony. We learned about the preparation process and, of course, had the chance to taste the tea ourselves. It was a calm and mindful experience that offered a deeper glimpse into local culture.

So delicious Shan Tuyet tea!

Later, we headed into the Old Town of Hoi An. We walked along the water, taking in the atmosphere. I was surprised by how busy it was. There were many tourists, and the streets were lively and full of energy. Everywhere we looked, there were tailor shops, food stalls, colorful lanterns, and souvenir stands. It was vibrant, slightly overwhelming, but undeniably fascinating.

To end the day, we went out for dinner together at a Vietnamese restaurant. I chose a noodle dish, which was prepared perfectly and tasted amazing. It was the ideal conclusion to a day filled with new experiences, cultural insights, and meaningful moments.

Looking back, it was a day that combined learning, relaxation, and exploration in the best possible way, one I won’t forget anytime soon.
